			From the Farm to Your Table - Your Source for Local Meat We bring in a variety of beef, chicken and pork as well as fresh produce from many area farms. It's all been ehtically-raised and with no growth-hormones. Buying direct from the farms, we're able to hear first hand how it's been raised, what it's been fed and how it's processed. All the farmers we work with welcome you to stop by their farm and see first hand for yourself the beautiful land on which they raise their animals and grow their produce. If interested, don't hesitiate to ask us and we can set you up with an appointment. Here are some of the farms we are currently working with and sell their products right here in our store:
			Berrymore Farms - Goochland, VA Local Beef Available July 22nd Here's you Cow! Local farmer Peter Bance brings to us Belted Galloway Beef that has grazed on clover and lush Virginia grass and finished on All-Natural Grain. No hormones or antibiotics.
			Cross River Farms - Powhatan, VA Black & Red Angus Steer Pasture-raised within 10 minutes from the store with no growth hormones and no antibiotics! Fed a ration of soybeans, silage and corn every morning and free to pasture the remainder of the day. Virginia Spring rains have produced lush fields of fescue, orchard and bluestem grasses.
			Polyface Farm - Staunton, VA Local Poultry, Pork & Turkeys We bring Joel Salatin's famous Polyface Farm right here to Goochland. Offering 100% Pastured "Beyond Organic" Chicken, Turkey and Pork from Staunton, VA. You may recognize his name from books like "The Omnivore's Dilemna" and "Everything I Want To Do Is Illegal." 			Saddleback Farm - Scottsville, VA Local Holstein Beef Grazing on a 25-acre farm, we're pleased to offer you these Holstein steers that are raised on a clean, stress-free pasture, in small groups of less than 6 cattle maximizing the health and growth of each animal. The Holstein breed beef tends to be more predictable and consistent than some beef breeds because of more uniform genetics. They are also leaner, depositing a higher proportion of their gain as protein, with less fat.

			Beechwood Farm - Goochland, VA Grass-fed Red Angus Beechwood brings us local all Grass-fed Black Angus Beef. It's red in color and very tender - both qualities not always found with grass-fed beef. The steers rotationally graze in the pastures and are raised with no hormones or antibiotics.
			Gryffon's Aerie - Crozet, VA Dry-Aged Local Beef Gryffon's Aerie brings us to a new level with their dry-aged local beef. They raise English Devon cattle which is known for its ability to marble on grass without any grain supplement. That, combined with dry-aging, is the backbone of producing an exquisite meal. 			Oak Hill Farms - Palmyra, VA Local & All-Natural Tamworth Hogs Cathy Cochrane from Oak Hill Farms brings us Tamworth Hogs. She nurture's her animals with a diet of beechwood, roots, acorns and lush green grass produced by Virginia's rain.
