Friday Wine Tastings & Shrimp Night!

Every Fridays 4-7pm
End the work week with a drive to Nadolski's Butcher Shop! Wine tastings begin at 4 each and every Friday! As always, we offer Steamed and Seasoned Shrimp to go and served along with cocktail sauce!

 

 
   


Santa’s Coming December 17th
Saturday, December 17th, 11am-2pm
Professional photographer Libby Clark will be at the shop again this year to capture photos with Santa. Very reasonably priced with photo packages available!

Beef Processing Workshop
Wednesday, November 16, 7pm
Jonathan will offer a hands-on beef processing class showing how the best of the best 'Ice Cream Cuts' are processed. Enjoy wine tastings, fine hors d'oeuvres, Belgian ales and a rare opportunity to see how your favorite cuts of beef are prepared by your local butcher. We will also be open for your desired purchases after this private event. This event is presented by the The Local Agrarian and hosted at Nadolski's Butcher Shop. "Deer Processing Made Simple" Workshop

Thursday, November 10, 7-9pm & Saturday, November 12, 3:30-5:30pm
Presented by the Center for Rural Culture, this 2 hour workshop will teach you how to butcher a deer and maximize the amount of meat you get from your hunt. Cost is $25/per person. Link to more information and registration>


Oktoberfest Harvest Celebration

Saturday, October 15th, 11am-5pm
Stop by for a showcase of sausage, German food and Beer tastings in celebration of the Autumn Season! A rare and seasonal treat! For $5, grab a house made Bratwurst, Weisswurst or Jaegerwurst sandwich prepared with spicy mustard and sauerkraut - or any other way you like - hot and ready to go!


Open house with Claudia Tucker Running for State Senate

Our doors will be open for a meet and greet with Claudia Tucker who is running for the state senate. This is your chance to talk in person and address your political views. Pig Butchering Demo

July 16th, 3pm
5 Seats still available! Watch as Jonathan butcher a whole Tamworth Hog from Cathy Cochrane’s Oak Hill Farm by hand. Learn how to decipher the differences between the Loin Chops, Center-cut Chops, Sirloin, Bacon and other cuts. Snacks and wine provided, $25/per person. Space is limited, reservations are required.


Open house with Bryan Rhode Running for State Senate in our district

Friday, July 15th, 4-7pm
Come meet, greet and ask Mr. Rhode about his upcoming campaign. We’re serving refreshments and hors-dourves and having wine tastings as well! Please note: We do not endorse any specific canidate. All are welcome!


Chamber & CRC Open House

The Goochland Chamber of Commerce and The Center for Rural Culture will be hosting a meet and greet at Nadolski's Butcher Shop. This will be a chance to learn more about the local co-op. Enjoy live music and wine tastings! Free one month membership to the coop to all who attend!

Stop by the shop Father’s Day Weekend for a real treat! Beer and wine tastings from 4-7pm! Beautiful Steaks! Add an edge to your weekend with free knife sharpening by master knife maker Chris Haynie. There’s no limit to what or how many knives you need sharpened! You’ll be amazed at how much fun you can have at a butcher shop!


Rustic Game Dinner Tasting

A perfect evening for the foodie who loves good food and the outdoors. Proceeds from the dinner will go to wildlife habitat for woodcock and gouse in the James River watershed.


2nd Annual Recession Busting Anniversary Extravaganza!

Wine Tastings, Sausage Tastings, Local Beef, Live Music & More!
Stop by as we celebrate our second year anniversary! We're working on planning a very festive day. We've booked a bluegrass and an acoustic band for some old fashioned entertainment. Live music runs until 3pm. We plan to pass out some tasty treats! You may even see a fire juggler on a unicycle out on the sidewalk! Who knows! Thank you for all of your support this past 24 months. We now have the pleasure of calling many of our customers our friends! Hope you can make it!


Holiday Wine Tastings

Both days we will be tasting multiple exceptional wines that pair perfectly with beef, game and wild fowl. On Wedensday, we will be tasting Châteauneuf-du-Pape! On Thursday, we'll sample Faust-Cabernet, sold in 1/2 bottles and great for the late Christmas Eve dinner, as well as Scaldis 'Noel' Dark Belgian Ale.


Cooking Demo's: Duck a l'Orange & The Art of Braising

Join us as we teach you how to make the classic French dish, Duck a l'Orange and discover the chef's secrets to properly braising meat. Braising is an excellent technique used to cook inexpensive cuts of meats and turns the simplest ingredients into fantastic tabletop meals. Artisanal, Local & All Natural Pork

Available the weekend of June 4th, taste sought after pork served by many celebrity chefs in top restaurants worldwide. Red Wattle is dark in color, extremely marbled and it’s flavor is unique to the Harrisonburg climate it forages on. We'll be cutting Pork Roasts, Loin Chops, Shoulder, Spare Ribs, Country-Style Ribs and Fresh Sausages. Wine tastings are on Saturday, June 5th from 9am-1pm.


Belgium Ale & Sausage Tasting

Saturday, May 15th, Starting at 9am
We will be sampling some Belgium Ales with ‘Tripp’ – a traditional Belgium sausage made with ground Cabbage, Pork and Spices. ‘Chimang’ Ale and also Chimay Grand Cru Cheese made by Trappist Monks to support the Monastary and charitable purposes.


Piedmontese Beef & Japanese Steel

Prized Italian Beef, Wine Tastings and Free Knife Sharpening!
To coincide with the opening day of the Goochland Farmers Market, we’ll be opening at 8am – now and thru the rest of the farmer market season. To celebrate, we’re getting in prized Italian Piedmontese Beef. This uniquely lean and tender beef originated in the Alpine Region of Northern Italy. Raised in Montana since their climate mimics that of Northern Italy, this cattle has been humanely-raised, grass-fed and free ranged. And most importantly, it’s 100% free of exogenous growth hormones, implants, stimulants or antibiotics. Also on hand, we’ll be offering free knife sharpening from Master Knife Maker Chris Haynie running from 9 to 1pm. Jennifer Mallam will be starting wine tastings at 10am. She’ll be tasting big heavy, Italian steak wines. We're still working on a band, but will keep you posted!

Friday, April 23rd, 3-7pm
Stacey Reazin with International Cellars will be in the shop tasting a new Pietra Santa, Sangiovese and Pinot Grigio. The Pietra Santa, in particular, has just a punch of Cabernet to soften it. A beautiful wine with grilled steak or cheese and many other foods! The Pinot Grigio is very floral with hints of summer fruits like mandarin orange and peach. It pairs well with seafood and even pate! You’ll find that the Sangiovese exhibits a fresh bouquet of violets, woodland berries, spices and leather. Come taste for yourself!


Wine Tastings Easter Weekend
Friday, April 2nd
‘The Cellar Door’ and Maurice Frank will be tasting ‘Duck, Duck, Goose’ Cabernet loaded with cinnamon and spice and great with Lamb roasts. Maurice will also have a selection of Chardonay’s and Pinot Noirs from Chile that will make your Easter unforgettable!

Saturday, April 3rd, Starting at 10am
Stacy Reazin from International Cellars will be featuring ‘Alsace’ wines specifically a Muscat and Pinot Blanc. Both Organic and Biodynamic! We say Happy Birthday to the owner of 1st Colony Wines, Randy McElroy by tasting his killer Petite Verdot!

This weekend, from 11am to 3pm, we'll be tasting wines (still to be selected) and sampling fine French cheese. Plus, we're doing hot and ready to to go fresh smoked ribs all day long! We'll have plenty of housemade coleslaw too!


South American Wine Tasting
Saturday, March 6th
One of the Best Steak Wines!
This weekend, from 11am to 3pm, we’re going South American and featuring a Malbec. This wine is Ruby-Red in color, high in Tannin and rich in Plum and Dark Orchard Fruits. Definitely not a cocktail wine, but one that pairs wonderfully with Dry-Aged Beef, just like they do in South America. Find more information on Malbec wine>


Meet the Farmer

Saturday, February 20th, Starting at Noon
Cross River Farms Local Beef Coming in March! Based out of Powhatan, and serving several pastures, Cross River Farms will be delivering us a ‘Balancer Steer’ steer born and raised right on Goochland’s own Rock Castle Road. He is ¾ Black Angus and ¼ Gelbvieh and at 18-months, is considered ‘young-headed’ and ‘white boned.’ He’s been well taken care of and has spent his days in open pastures foraging on a mixture of grass, barley, corn and soybeans to maximize his marbling potential. To hear more about the farm he came from, stop by the store this Saturday, February 20th, around noon to hear from the farmer himself. Beef will be available at, or around, March 1.

 

Valentine’s Weekend Throwdown
Saturday - February 13th, Starting at 10am
Bluegrass Band, Free Knife Sharpening & More
Join us as we celebrate the Valentine’s weekend. We’re kicking it off with the same fabulous 5-piece bluegrass band we had at the 1 year anniversary party. They will play from 11am-2pm. Also, Master Knife Sharpener Chris Haynie is coming out to sharpen knives starting at 10am. He gets them razor sharp! Look for sausage samplings and more treats! In the cases, we’ll be sure to have filets, lobsters, champagne and more!
